Affiliate Disclosure and Trademark Notice
How Vaultwise earns money, which links are affiliate links, what that does and does not influence, and our trademark position on the brands we write about.
Short version: some links here earn us a commission, none of them change what we recommend, and we are not affiliated with any wallet manufacturer.
Affiliate links#
Some outbound links to hardware wallets and related accessories are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. The price you pay is identical - affiliate programmes pay out of the retailer's margin, not as a surcharge.
Affiliate links may appear in articles, comparison tables, and buying recommendations. Where a link is not commercial - a manufacturer's documentation, a security researcher's write-up, a block explorer - it is a plain link.
What affiliate revenue does not influence#
- Which product we recommend. Our default recommendation across the site is one of the cheapest devices on the market, which pays us the least. That is not virtue signalling; it is what the security analysis actually supports.
- Whether we mention flaws. Every review has a section on who should buy something else.
- Whether we recommend buying at all. Several articles here tell readers a hardware wallet is not yet worth it for them.
- Where we send you to buy. We recommend purchasing direct from the manufacturer because marketplace supply chains are a genuine risk, even though marketplace affiliate programmes typically pay more.
What we do not do#
- No paid or sponsored reviews.
- No paid placement in comparison tables or rankings.
- No accepting free hardware in exchange for coverage terms.
- No selling, renting or sharing reader data. We do not ask for your identity to read an article.
If any of this changes, it will be disclosed prominently on the affected page, not buried here.
Trademark notice#
Vaultwise is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorised by Ledger SAS, SatoshiLabs s.r.o. (Trezor), Coinkite (Coldcard), or any other manufacturer discussed on this site.
"Ledger", "Ledger Live", "Ledger Nano", "Ledger Flex", "Ledger Stax", "Trezor" and other product names are the trademarks of their respective owners. They are used here descriptively - to identify the products being reviewed and discussed - which is nominative fair use, not a claim of affiliation.
Trademark owners who believe something here is misleading are welcome to contact us; see About.
Not financial or legal advice#
Everything on this site is general educational information about securing crypto assets. It is not investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and it does not account for your circumstances. Crypto assets are volatile and self-custody carries real risk of permanent, unrecoverable loss. Do your own research and consider consulting a qualified professional.
Security promise#
We will never ask for your recovery phrase, private keys, or PIN - not in an article, not in a form, not in an email, not in a comment reply. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to ask. If something claiming to be Vaultwise asks you for those, it is an impersonation.
Accuracy and corrections#
We date every article and revise rather than abandon them. If you find an error, contact us with the URL and the correction; material fixes are made in the article and the updated date changes to reflect it.
